The 2026 German 1/8 eBuggy Nationals delivered their verdict on 24 August on the astroturf track at Offroad Heiligenstadt, where Berkan Kilic came out on top of a 75-strong entry. The Mugen Seiki driver adds a DMC national title to an already well-stocked family record.

German 1/8 eBuggy Nationals controlled from start to finish

There was no suspense at Heiligenstadt. Berkan Kilic set the fastest time in all five qualifying rounds, never leaving his rivals the slightest opening. The finals followed the same pattern: two wins in the first two A-mains were enough to lock up the title before the last race had even started.

His LRP-powered MBX8R proved perfectly suited to the very high grip of the German astroturf, a surface that forgives few setup approximations on 1/8 electric chassis now able to go the distance without fading.

Aaron Waltz and Aaron Rönick complete the podium

Behind the untouchable Kilic, the fight was far closer. Aaron Waltz, driving an Xray, took second place and saved some honour by winning the third A-main. Aaron Rönick, the 2024 national nitro champion, took the third step of the podium with his Team Associated.

Also worth noting was the presence of Thomas Tekaat on Infinity in a 75-driver field, a figure that confirms how healthy the eBuggy class is in Germany.

The Kilic brothers’ double

This title has a special flavour: it comes just one week after the one claimed by Burak Kilic, Berkan’s brother, at the Belgian eBuggy Nationals. In seven days the Kilic family has taken two national crowns, a rare double on the European 1/8 off-road calendar.
