On a racetrack, a chassis that rolls free gains time everywhere. That is the premise of the new NMB bearing set from JConcepts, part number 5372, designed for the Team Associated RC10 and RC10T Factory Team.

18 NMB bearings to cover the whole chassis

The bag contains 18 pieces, which is every rotation point on an RC10 or an RC10T: hubs, transmission, differential and idlers. No mixing brands or hunting down mismatched part numbers one by one — the complete chassis goes over to new bearings in one pass, a real convenience during a restoration or a refresh ahead of a vintage race.

Stainless cages and tight tolerances

JConcepts highlights NMB quality, a Japanese precision bearing manufacturer, with stainless steel components and tolerances calibrated for competition use. The benefit is not only corrosion resistance: tighter tolerances limit radial play, and therefore parasitic vibration and premature wear of the neighbouring gears.

A preparation step not to be skipped

The brand recalls a well-established habit among top-level racers: before fitting, bearings are cleaned then refilled with a dedicated oil, JConcepts‘ RM2 (sold separately). Factory grease, designed for storage, is indeed too viscous to let a bearing truly spin free. JConcepts leans on world champions Ryan Maifield and Spencer Rivkin to validate that level of requirement.

Availability and price

The 5372 NMB bearing set is announced at 60 dollars retail, with a minimum advertised price of 51 dollars. An outlay that makes sense on a regularly used race chassis, where tired bearings cost far more in lap time than in parts.
