Chinese crawler specialist RGT is updating one of its best-known models: the Pioneer V2, part number EX86110PRO, is a 1/10 RTR crawler with pickup-truck styling that carries over the first Pioneer’s architecture while reworking it point by point.
A 1/10 RTR crawler with portal axles and a 2-speed gearbox
The technical base is the one that made the model’s reputation: a low centre of gravity layout on a 1.5mm C-channel steel frame, portal axles front and rear, a two-speed transmission with reverse drive system, and a steering servo mounted directly on the axle. An eight-link suspension in 6mm metal plus 1.9-inch wheels and tyres complete the package.
What really changes on the Pioneer V2
According to RGT, the V2 is not a simple restyle: the manufacturer announces an all-round upgrade in materials, gear machining precision, mechanical transmission and overall finish quality. The chassis frame, reduction gearbox, drivetrain, electronics and body are all revised compared with the original Pioneer.
Two power options, Hobbywing electronics
The Pioneer V2 is offered in brushed or brushless form, with a Hobbywing speed controller. The Pro version adds the brushless motor and a 40kg servo, aimed at more demanding crawling use. The realistic pickup body remains the model’s main visual selling point.
